A look at the full field competing in the Shanghai double-header
It is absolutely wild to see the sheer depth of talent currently grid-locked in the championship. The recent trip to China for the Shanghai double-header brought out a massive list of competitors, all pushing their machines to the absolute limit. It is not every day you get to see such a diverse and skilled group of drivers gathered in one place for back-to-back rounds.
Looking at the list of names that took to the track, we had a mix of seasoned veterans and hungry chargers. The entry list featured Taylor Barnard, Sébastien Buemi, Nick Cassidy, António Félix Da Costa, Nyck De Vries, and Jake Dennis. They were joined by Lucas Di Grassi, Felipe Drugovich, Joel Eriksson, Mitch Evans, and Maximilian Günther. It is a stunning assembly of racing talent, each of them fighting for every single point available across the two races.
But that is not all. The intensity was matched by the rest of the field, which included Zane Maloney, Josep Maria Martí, Edoardo Mortara, Nico Müller, and Norman Nato. To round out the high-caliber group, the organizers confirmed the participation of Oliver Rowland, Dan Ticktum, Jean-Éric Vergne, and Pascal Wehrlein. Watching these athletes compete on such a demanding circuit was something else entirely.
This collection of drivers defines what the championship is all about right now. Seeing them all in action during the Shanghai double-header was a reminder of why we follow this sport with such obsession. Every single one of these drivers brings a different level of intensity to the table, and having them all listed together really hits home just how competitive this season has become.
