Alex Palou claims victory at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix

Alex Palou proved once again why he is the one to beat in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, securing his 23rd career victory in the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix. It is absolutely staggering to realize he has taken 12 wins in his last 25 races. He led 71 laps of the 100-lap race, but it was his team's decision to undercut the lead group on Lap 64 that ultimately set the stage for this win.

Luck, as they say, plays a part in racing, and it certainly arrived on Lap 66. A full-course yellow following an incident in Turn 5 allowed Palou to cycle to the lead while his rivals—Kyle Kirkwood, Scott McLaughlin, Will Power, and Christian Lundgaard—were shuffled back to seventh through 10th. Even with Kirkwood fighting back to finish second, he simply could not match the pace of Palou, who opted to close out the race on primary Firestone Firehawk tires.

It was a tough day for the rest of the field, especially with Power and McLaughlin finding themselves in a bit of bumper-to-bumper contact after the restart. Graham Rahal managed a solid result, taking his third third-place finish in four races. Meanwhile, Palou heads into the next round at World Wide Technology Raceway with a massive 62-point lead, firmly in command of the championship.
