Barcelona-Catalunya GP grid finalized
Mercedes driver George Russell secured pole position for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, edging out Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton by a mere 0.064 seconds in qualifying. The pair will occupy the front row for the start of the race.
Row two will feature Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli and McLaren's Lando Norris. The third row is an all-Red Bull lineup, with Max Verstappen starting ahead of teammate Isack Hadjar.
Further down the order, Oscar Piastri qualified seventh for McLaren, followed by Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson and Audi's Nico Hulkenberg. Charles Leclerc completed the top 10 but faced disappointment after an error during Q3.
Fernando Alonso will begin his home Grand Prix from the pit lane. His Aston Martin team made power unit component changes, and he had qualified last, behind teammate Lance Stroll.
