Cadillac investigates Sergio Perez brake fire in Monaco
It was an alarming sight in Monaco as Sergio Perez saw his practice session come to a sudden, smoky halt during FP2. The front brakes on his Cadillac simply caught fire, forcing the driver to pull over and kill the session while the flames did their damage.
Pat Symonds, the Executive Engineering Consultant for Cadillac, confirmed that the team is currently scrambling to understand what sparked the blaze. Right now, they are still investigating the root cause of this failure. It is a messy way to lose track time at such a demanding circuit.
