Calle Carlberg secures victory on Junior WRC debut
Calle Carlberg marked his Junior WRC debut with a commanding performance at the season opener in Sweden. The 2025 FIA Junior ERC champion dominated the event, setting the fastest time on 12 of the 17 stages to secure a victory margin of 1 minute and 52.5 seconds over runner-up Leevi Lassila. Carlberg maintained a controlled pace throughout the final day, punctuated by a victory on the Wolf Power Stage to confirm his winning result.
Leevi Lassila finished in second place, unable to bridge the gap established by the Swede during the opening stages of the rally. Raúl Hernández rounded out the podium, opting for a steady approach on the snowy terrain to collect significant championship points. The remainder of the top five was finalized following a late-rally accident involving Craig Rahill, which elevated Ali Türkkan into fifth position.
In the concurrent WRC3 category, Matteo Fontana claimed a decisive victory, finishing nearly three minutes ahead of Tymek Abramowski. The Junior WRC championship will now shift its focus to asphalt, with the next round scheduled to take place at the Croatia Rally from 9 to 12 April.
