Camara wins F2 Barcelona feature race
Rafael Camara took his first FIA Formula 2 victory in the Barcelona feature race on Sunday, converting pole position into a dominant win. Despite losing the lead at the start, Camara demonstrated exceptional pace and tyre conservation.
Camara's lengthy 22-lap stint on soft tyres proved crucial. After his pit stop, he rejoined in fifth place and rapidly closed the gap to the cars ahead that had pitted earlier. He then systematically overtook his rivals to reclaim the lead, ultimately building a near 10-second advantage by the chequered flag.
Nikola Tsolov employed an alternative strategy, starting on hard tyres and switching to softs later in the race. This allowed him to charge through the field with several impressive overtakes, securing second place. Alexander Dunne finished third, extending his podium streak for the season, after briefly leading early on before being overtaken by Camara and Tsolov on older tyres.
