Chris Ingram prepares for full WRC2 season in Toyota
After years of strategic planning, Chris Ingram is set to launch a full-season assault on the WRC2 category. The 2019 European Rally Champion will contest seven rounds of the FIA World Rally Championship, beginning at Rallye Monte-Carlo. This return follows a deliberate hiatus from the sport to focus on personal milestones and securing the necessary support for a competitive title effort.
Ingram has opted for the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 for his return, citing the car's handling characteristics as a primary factor for his preference over previous equipment. He believes the current season is a critical opportunity to demonstrate his pace before technical regulations undergo significant revisions in 2027.
While acknowledging the strength of the field, the British driver aims for a steady start to his campaign, with a podium finish considered a realistic goal. Having spent his time away from active competition performing reconnaissance at Monte-Carlo, Ingram remains familiar with the stages and is focused on building momentum throughout the year.
