Christopher Bell cleared for Pocono following Michigan wrist fracture

It is a testament to the grit of these machines and their pilots that Christopher Bell will be on the grid this weekend. Following a violent collision with the Turn 4 wall at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, Joe Gibbs Racing confirmed that Bell sustained a fractured left wrist. The incident occurred on Lap 148 when Chase Elliott lost control, forcing both drivers into the SAFER barrier.

After initially being evaluated at the infield care center, X-rays in North Carolina confirmed the injury. Despite the setback, Bell has been medically cleared to return to his No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota at Pocono Raceway. Team owner Joe Gibbs had expressed initial concerns regarding both Bell's wrist and ankle following the race.

Bell currently sits 10th in the standings after a difficult 31st-place finish at Michigan. He will look to improve that standing at Pocono, a track where he has historically secured a best finish of fourth on two occasions.
