During the 50-minute practice session, Bell stepped out of his No. 20 car to allow standby driver Brent Crews to log vital seat time. The two combined for the 36th-fastest lap on the chart, but the real concern remains the physical demands of the 16-turn Qualcomm Circuit. Unlike the flat, triangular layout at Pocono, this temporary street track is a high-risk environment where Bell admits he cannot afford any setbacks that might hinder his path to being 100% healthy.
