Clear skies and intense heat ahead for the Austrian Grand Prix
The Red Bull Ring is set to host a scorcher for the Austrian Grand Prix. We are looking at a weekend defined by clear skies and rising temperatures, with absolutely no rainfall currently forecast for any of the sessions.
Friday kicks off with ambient temperatures climbing up to 31°C, while the track surface itself could hit 51°C. By the time we reach Saturday’s qualifying, the mercury will push even higher to a maximum of 32°C. The heat, combined with track temperatures potentially reaching 52°C, will undoubtedly turn the afternoon into a demanding test for the tires.
Sunday’s race day looks set to be the peak of the thermal challenge. With air temperatures possibly trending warmer and reaching 32°C, the asphalt at the Red Bull Ring could sizzle at 53°C. With the chance of rain sitting at 0% for the entire event, the drivers will have nowhere to hide from the sun.
