Dani Sordo set for Rally Islas Canarias homecoming
Dani Sordo has been confirmed to pilot the third Hyundai i20 N Rally1 at the upcoming Rally Islas Canarias. The Spanish veteran, partnered with co-driver Cándido Carrera, will compete in his home event as part of the official entry list for the fifth round of the championship.
The 50th anniversary edition of the rally, scheduled for April 23–26, will feature 18 asphalt stages spanning 322.21 kilometres. Sordo, who secured a podium finish at his last top-level outing in Greece last year, joins a strong 10-car Rally1 roster.
The top-tier entry features a competitive field including championship leader Elfyn Evans, Sébastien Ogier, Takamoto Katsuta, and Sami Pajari, while Hyundai teammates Thierry Neuville and Adrien Fourmaux will also be present. Furthermore, the WRC2 category remains highly contested, with drivers such as Yohan Rossel, Nikolay Gryazin, and Jan Solans among the notable names participating in the support classes.
