Enni Mälkönen embraces top-tier WRC return with Hyundai
Enni Mälkönen has quickly become a standout figure in the 2025 World Rally Championship, with her visible enthusiasm in the co-driver's seat garnering significant attention. Currently sharing a Hyundai Rally1 entry with Esapekka Lappi, the 35-year-old views her return to the sport's highest level as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. The pair's partnership has been marked by a shared appreciation for the sport, with Lappi crediting Mälkönen’s positive perspective as a key factor in his own performance this season.
Her path to the world stage began in 2012 following a background in equestrian sports. Since then, Mälkönen has systematically climbed the ranks, securing the 2022 WRC3 co-drivers’ title and the 2024 WRC2 crown before winning the 2025 Finnish Rally Championship. Now serving as the only female competitor at the sport's pinnacle, she remains focused on breaking barriers and supporting her team. Following a strong showing at Rally Sweden, Mälkönen is now preparing to tackle her debut at the upcoming Safari Rally Kenya.
