Here is the news we have been waiting for: the entry list has officially dropped for round six of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign, the 6 Hours of Fuji. Set to take place from 25 to 27 September, this race arrives right in the middle of a tense title fight that could easily decide everything. Fuji Speedway sits spectacularly in the shadow of Japan's highest peak, and this legendary circuit has hosted 12 FIA WEC races so far. Toyota has claimed nine of those victories, and the home favourite will be hunting for a tenth win on home soil.
That hunger for victory will be fierce, especially after how things ended last time out at Austin's Circuit of The Americas. The #7 crew was leading comfortably before a brutal hydraulic issue forced them into retirement barely ten minutes from the chequered flag, robbing them of what would have been a third victory of the season.
Despite that heartbreak, Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Nyck de Vries find themselves tied on points at the top of the Drivers’ table. They share the lead with Robin Frijns and René Rast, because their BMW rivals also failed to score in the US. Over in the Manufacturers’ battle, Ferrari secured its first success of its title-defending season, hauling the Prancing Horse right back into the hunt for honors and setting up a fascinating three-way fight for the closing stages of the championship.
Looking at the entry list itself, there is just one change compared to COTA. The #12 Cadillac, which took pole position at Fuji last year, is slimming back down to a two-driver line-up for this event before Alex Lynn makes his anticipated return for the final two rounds.
Down in LMGT3, the standings at the summit have tightened right up. A difficult outing for TF Sport in Austin combined with a strong result for VISTA AF Corse has narrowed the gap significantly. History shows us that Corvette and Ferrari finished first and second respectively twelve months ago in Japan, meaning another captivating contest on the tarmac looks completely assured.
