FIA CareerShift program promotes sustainability at Rallye Monte-Carlo
During the Rallye Monte-Carlo weekend, the FIA held a CareerShift event aimed at educating participants on the governing body's environmental strategy. Led by Susanna Coletta and Katharina Wolf, the session examined the practical implementation of sustainability within the World Rally Championship, with insights provided by WRC Promoter representative Bernhard Hafenscher.
Students participated in a strategic challenge, where they developed and pitched proposals for industry improvements, including a concept for a unified fan application. The professional development day concluded with a Q&A session featuring Ferrari WEC driver Francesco Castellacci, who discussed the realities of competing at the highest levels of global motorsport.
Additional outreach activities targeted younger audiences, as local school children visited the event to learn about the series' environmental efforts. Hafenscher guided the group through topics such as fossil-free fuels and tyre recycling, before the visit concluded with a meeting with the event's mascot.
