It is rare to see a driver become so synonymous with the scarlet machines of Maranello, but Charles Leclerc has done exactly that. Since his debut with the team in 2019, he has proven time and again that he is the man to lead Ferrari into a new era. His arrival was an immediate statement of intent. In only his second race with Ferrari, the then 21-year-old took pole position at the Bahrain International Circuit, shattering the track record with a 1m 28.866s effort. That same season saw his maiden victory at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, where he defended brilliantly to hold off Lewis Hamilton by 0.981s. Just days later, he fulfilled the ultimate dream of any Ferrari driver by winning the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, a victory he would mirror five years later with a masterclass in tyre management against Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
Leclerc’s career has not been without its challenges.
