Franco Colapinto shines with consecutive Q3 appearance in Canada

It is absolutely wild to watch Franco Colapinto find his rhythm. The Argentine driver delivered a masterclass at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, fighting his way into Q3 for the second time in as many rounds. By edging out Audi’s Nico Hulkenberg by a mere 0.029s, he secured P10 on the grid, proving that his recent form is no fluke.

Everything just clicked for him this weekend. After converting a P13 start into a P9 finish in the Sprint, he maintained that intensity throughout qualifying. Colapinto himself called it a "perfect day," and looking at how he has turned his season around after a difficult opening trio of races, it is hard to argue with him. He feels he is finally able to push the machine to its absolute limits again.

While Colapinto was soaring, the other side of the Alpine garage was in turmoil. Pierre Gasly had a disastrous outing, starting the Sprint from the pit lane and failing to progress past Q2, ultimately settling for P14. The Frenchman was visibly struggling, admitting, "I can feel there is something not working but I need the team to help me."
