Freddie Slater secures maiden pole in dramatic Silverstone qualifying

Freddie Slater pulled off something truly beautiful at Silverstone, snatching his first-ever Formula 3 pole position in a session that kept everyone guessing until the very last moment. The Trident rookie laid down a 1:45.620, leaving championship rival Théophile Nael to settle for second place for Campos Racing.

It was an insane scramble behind them. PREMA Racing driver Louis Sharp surged late into third, just clear of Campos Racing’s Ernesto Rivera. We also saw some stellar work from Matteo De Palo, who took his best qualifying result of the year in fifth for Trident, followed by Hitech’s Fionn McLaughlin in sixth.

Rounding out the top ten, Noah Stromsted put the third Trident car into the top seven, with ART Grand Prix’s Maciej Gladysz in eighth and PREMA Racing’s James Wharton in ninth. Alessandro Giusti managed tenth for MP Motorsport, ahead of AIX Racing’s Yevan David. Ugo Ugochukwu, the current championship leader, finished in 12th, which earns the Campos Racing driver pole for the Saturday Sprint Race.
