Front Row Motorsports has officially secured its next big piece for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Jake Garcia, a veteran of the series and a winner at Bristol Motor Speedway, is stepping into the team's No. 38 Ford F-150 starting in 2027. It is a massive move for a stable that already boasts 23 race victories and a 2022 series championship won by current FRM NASCAR Cup Series competitor Zane Smith.
Jerry Freeze, General Manager of Front Row Motorsports, made it clear why they wanted him. "He displayed it at Bristol, and over his entire Truck Series career, he has the talent, abilities and personal motivation to keep our No. 38 team at the top of the heap and continue to help FRM set the bar in the series," Freeze said.
With their support, I think that I can continue to build upon the success that other drivers have had in the No. 38 truck and be a contender for the title in 2027.
Looking at the numbers, you can see the appeal. Over 95 career Truck Series starts, Garcia has stacked up one win, six top-five finishes, 29 top-10 finishes, and five poles. That breakthrough victory at Bristol on September 17 saw him lead 104 of 250 laps, cementing his race-winning credentials. He also brings deep short-track pedigree as a former winner of both the prestigious All-American 400 and North-South Challenge late model races, and he currently sits 11th in the Truck Series standings.
Quanta Services is coming along for the ride as a major primary sponsor on the No. 38 truck. The Houston, Texas-based Fortune 500 corporation is a global leader in specialized contracting services for the utility, renewable energy, communications, pipeline, and energy industries, boasting over 60,000 employees worldwide.
For Garcia, landing in top-tier equipment is the opportunity he has been waiting for. "They are one of the top teams in the series and have proven that their equipment can win any given week, no matter the track," Garcia said, expressing his gratitude to Bob Jenkins and Jerry Freeze. "With their support, I think that I can continue to build upon the success that other drivers have had in the No. 38 truck and be a contender for the title in 2027."
Right now, both FRM entries—the No. 34 and No. 38 Ford F-150s—are right in the middle of the Chase presented by Mobil 1, with the No. 38 machine having already taken two wins this season through 19 events at Daytona International Speedway in February and North Wilkesboro Speedway in July. The new era for Garcia begins officially when he fires up the No. 38 Ford F-150 at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 19, for the opening of the 2027 Truck Series season.
