Gasly sees stars aligning for Alpine after Barcelona points finish

Pierre Gasly maintained his consistent points-scoring run by finishing seventh at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Despite a challenging qualifying session that placed him 14th on the grid, Gasly's strong race pace allowed him to recover and secure a solid result for Alpine.

The Frenchman has now scored points in every event this season, with his only non-points finish being a retirement in Miami due to an incident. Gasly expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, suggesting that positive developments are converging for Alpine. He highlighted the importance of reliability and capitalizing on opportunities, particularly noting the benefit of retirements from other competitors.

Gasly acknowledged that Alpine currently lacks the outright pace to challenge the leading teams but emphasized that they are maximizing their potential within the midfield. He indicated that the team needs to focus on improving their performance for upcoming races, with a specific hope for increased pace in Austria.

The Barcelona event also saw Gasly reinstated to third place in the Monaco Grand Prix classification following a successful Right of Review, marking his first podium since 2024. In Barcelona, teammate Franco Colapinto, despite qualifying ahead, obeyed team orders to allow Gasly to pursue better track position. Colapinto later received a penalty, finishing tenth, but both drivers' efforts helped Alpine solidify their fifth position in the constructors' standings.
