Gus Greensmith switches to Toyota for WRC2 campaign
Gus Greensmith has confirmed a shift in machinery for his latest WRC2 title bid, moving away from the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 to the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2. Retaining his partnership with the RaceSeven team, the British driver is looking to improve upon his fourth-place finish in last year's standings after a series of technical setbacks hampered his previous campaign.
The transition to the new car has involved an extensive testing schedule, including three days on Portuguese gravel and additional preparation in Kenya. Greensmith noted that while the Toyota requires a different driving style compared to the more accessible Škoda, he has already begun to adapt to the car's superior front-end precision and handling characteristics in imperfect conditions.
Greensmith’s season will open at the Safari Rally Kenya, an event where he has secured class victories in each of the last two years. He expects the Toyota’s capabilities to complement his aptitude for rough gravel events, as he seeks to establish consistency throughout his 2025 program.
