Meanwhile, Mercedes had a difficult afternoon; George Russell could only manage fifth at 1:28.733, citing a lack of pace and a frustrating balance. McLaren also found themselves in the midfield mix, with Lando Norris sixth and Oscar Piastri seventh after an arduous session for the team, including bodywork repairs for Norris.

Down the order, the Racing Bulls pairing of Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad managed to land both cars in the top 10, finishing ninth and tenth respectively.
