Lewis Hamilton finished fifth at the Austrian Grand Prix, expressing frustration over a performance that failed to match his early-weekend expectations. Despite qualifying third, Hamilton struggled to maintain pace throughout the 71-lap event, battling high tyre degradation that forced him into an unplanned three-stop strategy.

Hamilton noted that the team initially targeted a two-stop race, but deteriorating rubber and thermal management issues made that approach unviable. Beyond the tyre concerns, the seven-time world champion pointed to a general lack of power as a limiting factor in his ability to challenge at the front.

While the result marks a dip in form following his recent victory in Barcelona, Hamilton remains optimistic about the team's season trajectory.
