Jonas Andersson marks milestone of 200 WRC starts
Jonas Andersson has officially surpassed 200 starts in the FIA World Rally Championship, cementing his status as one of the sport's most seasoned co-drivers. Despite his current longevity, the Swede's path to the top was not planned; he originally aspired to be a driver before an invitation from P-G Andersson pivoted his career toward the co-driver's seat. That partnership proved fruitful, resulting in two Junior WRC titles, despite a rocky start to their 2004 campaign.
Andersson’s career has been characterized by resilience and adaptation. His journey included a brief hiatus from the sport—during which he worked in construction—before returning to top-level competition alongside Mads Østberg. Their long-term collaboration remains a high point in his career, marked by notable podium finishes and a shared tenure with the Citroën factory team. Following a WRC2 title with Pontus Tidemand, Andersson continued his professional evolution by switching to English-language pace notes to partner with Gus Greensmith.
