Jürgenson looks to turn tide in Croatia after challenging WRC2 start
Romet Jürgenson is targeting a reversal of fortune at this week’s Rally Croatia following a difficult start to his WRC2 campaign. The M-Sport Ford driver has faced a succession of hurdles in the opening three rounds, ranging from technical failures in Monte Carlo to a flooded engine in Kenya and an accident during the Swedish round.
Despite the challenging start, Jürgenson heads to Croatia with optimism, citing his previous success on the country's asphalt roads. In 2024, the Estonian secured a Junior WRC victory at the event and previously finished fourth overall in the European Rally Championship. Equipped with a 2026-spec Ford Fiesta Rally2 and having completed a productive pre-event test, Jürgenson believes he has the pace to compete with the frontrunners.
The team also confirmed that co-driver Siim Oja is fully recovered following a bizarre incident in Kenya. Oja gained online attention after dislocating his finger while inspecting the car, only to reset the joint himself at the scene. He has since been cleared for competition, with Jürgenson praising his partner's resilience ahead of the upcoming rally.
