As Motorsport.com reports, Kaden Honeycutt survived a wild, rain-interrupted Saturday at Kansas Speedway to take a brilliant victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The race was forced to a halt right around half distance when the skies opened up, triggering a red flag that kept the field waiting for nearly five hours. Once engines fired back up, Honeycutt wasted zero time asserting his dominance at the front of the field.
Even a late strategy call that dropped him down the order didn't slow the No. 11 TRICON Garage Toyota driver. After taking four tires on their final pit stop, Honeycutt needed less than two laps to slice back through traffic and reclaim the lead. Behind him, Christian Eckes grabbed second place, with Brent Crews third, Daniel Hemric fourth, and Ben Rhodes rounding out the top five. Chandler Smith, Nick Leitz, Tanner Gray, Jake Garcia, and Corey LaJoie completed the top ten.

The battle for the championship took an enormous swing in the closing laps. Layne Riggs was running second in his No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford when disaster struck with just two laps remaining, scraping the wall and cutting a tire. That late heartbreak handed Honeycutt a massive advantage in the standings. Honeycutt now commands the Truck Series championship with a 37-point lead over Riggs, while Smith sits a distant 71 points back in third.
Honeycutt was battling illness in victory lane but made sure to praise his crew, calling crew chief Scott Zipadelli the absolute GOAT on bare road. The TRICON driver also revealed a practical reason for skipping the traditional post-race celebrations. "I didn't do any burnouts," Honeycutt said. "We got to save this thing for Homestead and motors cost us a lot too."
With this stunning performance at Kansas, Honeycutt adds to his earlier wins at Watkins Glen and Richmond during the 2026 campaign. There are now just five races left on the calendar before the championship is decided.
