Kimi Antonelli conquers the streets of Monaco
It is becoming impossible to find the words. Kimi Antonelli has secured his fifth consecutive victory, a lights-to-flag masterclass on the streets of Monte Carlo that leaves him 66 points clear of Lewis Hamilton in the Drivers’ Championship. While the Italian continues to rewrite the record books, his Mercedes teammate George Russell endured a nightmare, finishing out of the points after serving a drive-through penalty for a pit lane infringement.
Behind the leader, the race was absolute carnage. Max Verstappen retired on the opening lap after failing to get off the line, while local hero Charles Leclerc saw his home race end in the barriers. Isack Hadjar, showing immense resilience, managed to claim his first-ever podium for Red Bull despite nursing front-tyre graining and gearbox concerns. It was a race defined by penalties and attrition, with Cadillac, Haas, and McLaren all suffering costly retirements, leaving the principality in a state of shock as the championship pendulum swings heavily in favor of the young Italian.
