Kimi Antonelli makes it four in a row in Canada

Kimi Antonelli is truly on a tear. He made it four wins in a row at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, extending his lead over teammate George Russell. For a while, we were treated to a beautiful, intense scrap between the two Mercedes drivers, but that intensity hit a wall when Russell was forced to retire with a problem. It was pure racing—no quarter given by either man—until the car gave up.

Behind the Mercedes pair, Lewis Hamilton claimed second, while Max Verstappen secured his first podium of the season. It was a chaotic weekend, particularly for Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who looked entirely out of sorts, and Isack Hadjar, who spent his race bemoaning his own mistakes. On the bright side, Franco Colapinto managed his highest ever finish in a stellar midfield performance.

It was a disastrous day for McLaren. Their gamble on intermediate tyres at the start backfired spectacularly, and with Oscar Piastri crashing out and Lando Norris suffering from reliability woes, the team left empty-handed. Their misfortune opened the door for Carlos Sainz to score for Williams and for Ollie Bearman to find himself in the points, despite a few bumps in the road.
