Kyle Larson leads the way in practice at Qualcomm Circuit
It is absolutely wild to see these machines tearing up Naval Base Coronado, but Kyle Larson proved exactly why he is the defending Cup Series champion. The Hendrick Motorsports driver snatched the top spot with a speed of 89.613 mph, setting his best mark right at the tail end of the 50-minute session.
The competition was fierce on the 3.4-mile street course. Todd Gilliland followed closely at 89.421 mph, with Ty Gibbs, Connor Zilisch, and Carson Hocevar rounding out the top five. It is a stunning display of precision for such a technical layout.
Looking at the long-run pace, Shane van Gisbergen, Austin Hill, Michael McDowell, Ty Gibbs, and Todd Gilliland showed the most consistent speed over five-lap consecutive averages. The field now shifts focus to qualifying for the Anduril 250, setting the stage for what should be a fascinating 75-lap race this Sunday.
