Layne Riggs completes a Nashville masterclass

Layne Riggs was simply not to be denied at Nashville Superspeedway. In a stunning display of persistence, Riggs battled back from a 16th-place slide during the final stage to claim victory in the Craftsman Truck Series Allegiance 200. It was a wild, aggressive drive that saw him charge from 10th with 15 laps remaining to eventually hunt down Rajah Caruth.

The final laps were pure theatre. With fresher rubber, Riggs caught Caruth and the two traded paint in a desperate, high-stakes fight for the win. Riggs refused to lift, diving deep into Turn 3 to force his way to the outside. "I didn’t lift until I got to his outside, and I was like, ‘I’ll just figure the exit out later,’” Riggs admitted. With a final, decisive push from his Front Row Motorsports teammate Chandler Smith, Riggs broke free to secure back-to-back victories.

Caruth was left to settle for second, showing immense maturity as he refused to force a crash that would have compromised his Spire Motorsports team’s pursuit of the owner’s championship. While Smith waited for the leaders to tangle, he ultimately provided the support that propelled the No. 34 truck to the front. By dominating all three stages, Riggs also claimed a maximum 76-point haul, vaulting into the lead of the regular-season standings.
