Lewis Hamilton takes his happiest Ferrari podium in Canada

Lewis Hamilton looked like a man possessed in Canada, driving his way to a P2 finish that he described as his “happiest day at Ferrari so far.” After a disappointing P6 result in Saturday’s Sprint, he clearly found a new rhythm on Sunday. Starting from P5 on the grid, he climbed through the field and held his own in a tense battle against Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to claim second.

It is truly beautiful to see the seven-time World Champion finding this kind of harmony with his machinery. Hamilton spoke of feeling “very light” and physically strong, clearly delighted to finally have the engineering support he has been working towards since joining the Scuderia in 2025. He acknowledged that while the team isn't quite where they want to be, the car's reliability is a massive asset.

This result was a collective win for the squad, with team mate Charles Leclerc bringing his car home in P4. The haul of points has effectively strengthened Ferrari’s grip on second in the Teams’ Championship, especially as McLaren finished the day with nothing. It was a day where everything finally clicked.
