Matteo Fontana takes command of WRC3 at Acropolis Rally

Matteo Fontana established a dominant position in the WRC3 category at the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece following a dramatic Friday. The defending champion capitalized on the retirement of early leader Nataniel Bruun, who was forced to withdraw during the afternoon loop due to engine failure in his Ford Fiesta Rally3.

Following Bruun’s exit, Fontana holds a substantial advantage of nearly four minutes over Polish driver Tymek Abramowski. Abramowski endured a difficult start to the rally, dropping to sixth position after an early puncture, but recovered through a series of competitive stage times to climb into the runner-up spot.

Local driver Flandy moved into the final podium position following the day's attrition. The Greek veteran, partnered with long-time co-driver Kostas Stefanis, now leads a significant gap back to the remainder of the field as the rally heads into the next stage of competition.
