Matteo Fontana triumphs at EKO Acropolis Rally Greece

Matteo Fontana has proven once again why he is the one to beat, taking a comprehensive win at the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece. He started the final day with a massive 3min 56.7sec lead, and even a puncture on Sunday’s opening stage couldn't derail his Ford Fiesta Rally3, as he managed to hold on for a 41.7sec victory.

This result is a statement from the reigning champion, marking his third win of the season and extending his WRC3 lead to 34 points over Gil Membrado. Tymek Abramowski secured second place, which, despite being his third runner-up finish this year, was hindered by his own early puncture back on Friday. Meanwhile, it was a special debut for Flandy, who stood on the final podium spot alongside none other than the legendary co-driver Kostas Stefanis.

The battle could have been even more intense if not for Nataniel Bruun, who was forced to retire his Fiesta on Friday due to engine trouble. The Bolivian showed remarkable pace with a clean sweep of stage victories on Sunday to climb back to fourth, followed by Grzegorz Bonder in fifth.
