McLaren lead the development race at Silverstone
It is time for the British Grand Prix, and the paddock is buzzing with technical updates for Round 9 of the season. The Sprint format is back, but the real intrigue lies in what the teams have bolted onto their cars. McLaren are the ones to watch this weekend, leading the charge with a flurry of changes. They are running a new front brake duct and a revised floor board, pushing hard for better flow physics and aerodynamic load.
Elsewhere, the development paths diverge wildly. Ferrari have arrived with an updated rear corner, while Racing Bulls are aiming to find more performance through new floor corner and diffuser geometry. Haas, hearing Ollie Bearman’s concerns about being out-developed, have responded with comprehensively revised rear wing profiles. Meanwhile, Williams are banking on a new front wing geometry for their home crowd, looking for a boost in local loading.
Not everyone is aggressive this time around. Mercedes, Alpine, Audi, and Cadillac have brought zero new parts to Silverstone, choosing stability over the risk of change. Red Bull and Aston Martin have also opted to stand still, with the former focusing on a subtle rear corner update and the latter saving their significant package for Hungary.
