Membrado leads WRC3 charge in Gran Canaria
Jan Solans Membrado asserted his authority in the WRC3 category on Friday, securing five stage victories in his Ford Fiesta Rally3. This performance allowed the 18-year-old to build a 17-second lead over Tymek Abramowski, who had initially set the pace during Thursday's opening super special stage at the Gran Canaria Stadium.
Reflecting on his progression, Membrado expressed satisfaction with his first time leading a WRC rally. Behind the leaders, the competition remains tight as Ghjuvanni Rossi sits within striking distance of second place, with Raúl Hernández following in fourth position.
The final stage of the day saw a shake-up in the standings following an incident involving Nicolas Otto. After rolling his vehicle, Otto dropped out of the top five, promoting Santiago Pérez to fifth position as the field prepares for Saturday's action.
