NASCAR shifts the Great American Getaway 400 start time at Pocono Raceway

It is official: the Great American Getaway 400 Presented by VISITPA will now fire up at 1 p.m. ET this Sunday. NASCAR confirmed the move Saturday morning, pushing the start forward from its original 3 p.m. slot to get ahead of the nasty weather predicted for the Long Pond area later in the day. It is a smart, necessary shift to ensure we actually get those 160 laps and 400 miles of racing on the books.

This is the 16th points-paying event of the 2026 Cup Series season, and the pressure is mounting as the Chase picture tightens. All eyes will be on Denny Hamlin, who arrives in Pennsylvania riding a wave of momentum after back-to-back wins at Nashville Superspeedway and Michigan International Speedway.
