Nashville Cup Series race delayed by weather

The Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway has been forced into a delay thanks to some miserable weather hanging over the 1.33-mile concrete oval. While the field was scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. ET, the cars didn't get the command to fire up until 8:25 p.m. ET.

It has been a messy weekend in the Music City. Rain already wiped out qualifying on Saturday, forcing the lineup to be set by the NASCAR rule book rather than track position. Thankfully, the teams managed a 45-minute practice session where Christopher Bell looked quick, setting the fastest lap.

Now, Denny Hamlin finally leads the field to the green flag for this 300-lapper under the lights. A competition caution is already locked in for Lap 35.
