Norris: Ferrari would dominate with a superior engine
Lando Norris has commented that Ferrari possesses the most potent car in terms of cornering performance this season, and would be the dominant team if equipped with a superior engine. His remarks came following Lewis Hamilton's victory for Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
Hamilton secured his maiden win for the Italian squad in Spain, his first since joining the team at the start of 2025. The race saw Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes retire late in the event, promoting Norris to the final podium spot. This victory marked Ferrari's first since the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix and ended Mercedes' streak of wins in every race this year.
Norris believes Ferrari's recent performance in Barcelona indicates a step forward, potentially challenging Mercedes for the rest of the season. He stated, "If they had a better engine they're dominating. They're the class of the field in terms of cornering performance at the minute and we're not even close to them."
The British driver, who has secured two podiums this season, acknowledged the need for significant improvements from his own team to remain competitive. "We need to really get our heads down and see what improvements we can do," Norris added, emphasizing the ongoing hard work at McLaren to accelerate their development.
