Norris looks for a resurgence in Barcelona

It has been a rough ride for McLaren lately. After what Lando Norris bluntly described as a "shocking" weekend in Monaco, the team is desperate to find their footing again in Barcelona. Reliability issues haunted them in the Principality, culminating in a painful retirement for Norris, while Oscar Piastri managed to salvage a fourth-place finish by capitalizing on the misfortunes of others.

Now, the team turns to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, a venue they hope will serve as a more traditional test of their machine. Norris is looking for "reassurances and confidence" after the frustration of recent races. Both drivers are eager to recapture the pace they showed earlier in the year, particularly during strong outings in Miami and Montreal.

Piastri knows they have work to do, admitting they simply lacked the speed to fight for position last time out. "It certainly has been up and down, that's for sure," he noted. The team has been working closely with HPP to address the power unit troubles, and they are hoping this weekend provides a clearer picture of where they truly stand among the frontrunners.
