Norris reflects on a painful Canadian Grand Prix exit

It was a brutal Sunday for McLaren at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Lando Norris, who initially surged into the lead after a lightning start, saw his race unravel after an aggressive gamble on intermediate tyres proved to be the wrong choice as conditions failed to swing in their favor. By the time he was forced to retire due to a gearbox issue, Norris was blunt about the experience: "It put us out of our misery in a way."

Despite the frustration, Norris is refusing to dwell on the disaster. He noted that he personally pushed for the early tyre call, and he is taking the result on the chin. Even with the mechanical failure and the tactical misstep, the Briton found solace in the fact that he was the only one capable of taking the fight to Mercedes during the opening stages of the race.
