Ogier narrows gap to Evans as snowy conditions define Monte-Carlo stage

Sebastien Ogier surged during the 29.93km La Bréole / Bellaffaire stage, taking advantage of icy and snow-covered roads to shave his deficit to Elfyn Evans. The Toyota driver moved within three seconds of his teammate, who managed to mitigate the time loss despite the difficult surface.

Overall leader Oliver Solberg chose a cautious strategy through the treacherous conditions, finishing the test with the fourth-fastest time. While his lead was reduced, the Swede holds a comfortable 51.4-second cushion heading into the next stages of his maiden Monte-Carlo as a full-time Rally1 entry.

Elsewhere in the field, Takamoto Katsuta recovered from a starting line stall to secure the third-quickest time after overnight power steering repairs. Thierry Neuville faced a challenging run, describing the long stage as an exercise in survival, while Adrien Fourmaux maintained his fourth-place position in the general classification despite the extreme environment.
