Paddon looks to extend WRC programme after successful asphalt appearances

Hayden Paddon has concluded his three-event asphalt programme for Hyundai, marking his return to the top tier of the World Rally Championship. Alongside co-driver John Kennard, the pair delivered strong performances, highlighted by a podium finish in Croatia and a solid seventh place at Rally Japan. Paddon noted that the team's objectives were met, emphasizing his steady improvement across the demanding Tarmac events.

With the WRC schedule now shifting to seven consecutive gravel rounds, Paddon is eager to demonstrate his pace on his preferred surface. While Dani Sordo and Esapekka Lappi have been linked to future outings in the third Hyundai entry, no final decisions have been made for upcoming rallies in South America or Europe. Paddon expressed a particular interest in returning to South American soil, where he secured his maiden WRC victory in 2016.

While he awaits further instructions from Hyundai regarding his potential inclusion in the remainder of the calendar, Paddon remains focused on his upcoming commitments. He is set to return to the Rally2 category shortly, competing at the Ypres Rally in Belgium with BMA Autosport.
