Pierre Gasly admits Alpine lacks pace at Silverstone
It was a grim Saturday for Pierre Gasly at Silverstone, as the Alpine pilot found himself unable to make any meaningful impression on the midfield battle during the Sprint race. There is no sugarcoating the reality here: the machinery simply wasn't up to the task.
Gasly was quite clear about the situation after the session, admitting that the team does not have the pace to fight with the cars around them. It is a frustrating position for any driver, especially when you are looking for a way forward in such a competitive field.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix, the tone from the driver was one of urgency. He stated that they "need to find a way to go faster" if they are to have any hope of competing. Whether they can bridge that gap in such a short window remains to be seen, but the challenge is clear.
