Royère takes WRC3 lead following Rossi retirement at Rallye Monte-Carlo

The WRC3 category saw a significant shift in the order during Saturday’s action as early leader Ghjuvanni Rossi was forced to retire. Rossi, who had commanded the class since the event's opening night, saw his rally conclude on SS10 after his Ford Fiesta Rally3 suffered irreparable suspension damage.

Benefiting from this development, Royère moved into the lead and maintained a conservative pace through the difficult conditions of snow and mud to establish an eight-minute buffer. Meanwhile, Matteo Fontana showcased impressive speed in his recovery drive. Despite an earlier setback on Thursday, Fontana secured the third-fastest time on SS11, ultimately climbing to second place in the standings following the late retirement of Jean-Christophe Guibert.
