Sami Pajari targets victory at Rally Islas Canarias
Toyota driver Sami Pajari is heading to Rally Islas Canarias with renewed confidence following his breakthrough performance in Croatia. Despite a puncture late in the event, the 24-year-old secured a second-place finish, his strongest result to date in the WRC, and believes that the upcoming tarmac event in Gran Canaria could prove even more favorable for his driving style.
While the variable grip levels in Croatia presented a unique challenge, Pajari feels his pace on cleaner, smoother road surfaces is a clear advantage. Having already recorded a string of podium finishes this season, the Finnish driver currently holds fourth place in the championship standings. He remains optimistic that his momentum, combined with the nature of the Canarian stages, will allow him to challenge for the top spot on the podium.
Looking ahead to the event, Pajari noted that he does not anticipate road cleaning to be a significant factor in the race outcome. With the standings tightening, he remains focused on maintaining his consistency as he pushes for his maiden victory in the series.
