Silverstone dresses up for the British Grand Prix

The British Grand Prix is sacred ground, and for the 2026 event, the paddock has absolutely delivered. Silverstone demands extra effort, and the grid has responded with a stunning array of one-off liveries and custom lids that capture the history and flair of this iconic circuit.

McLaren has gone deep into the archives, shedding their papaya for a white and British Racing Green scheme inspired by the 1966 M2B. It is a beautiful nod to their heritage, complete with custom race suits featuring founder Bruce McLaren’s name. Meanwhile, Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad has produced an authentic masterpiece; his helmet, designed by Navinder Nangla, features hand-drawn illustrations of his path to F1. It is raw, punk, and a brilliant way for the 18-year-old to mark his first home race.

Elsewhere, the tributes are flowing thick and fast. Lewis Hamilton is bringing back his iconic yellow in his racing gear, a lovely full-circle touch for his home fans. Williams is dressing the FW48 in Union Jack accents, while Carlos Sainz celebrates his 2022 maiden win site with a striking new lid. Cadillac is embracing the American 4th of July, with Valtteri Bottas even opting for a bald eagle-adorned helmet. Oscar Piastri is taking it to another level entirely, cycling through three distinct, artist-designed helmets across the weekend, and Haas driver Ollie Bearman has debuted a brilliant lid featuring his mascot, Obbie the bear.
