Thierry Neuville looks to move on following difficult Safari Rally

Thierry Neuville concluded the Safari Rally in seventh place, securing only four points from Sunday’s classification. Despite Hyundai showing competitive speed during the event, the Belgian driver faced a series of technical hurdles throughout the weekend, including radiator overheating caused by mud, as well as recurring tire, suspension, and driveshaft issues.

Reflecting on the unpredictable nature of the Kenyan terrain, Neuville admitted the event proved particularly unforgiving this year. While disappointed to miss a podium finish, he offered praise to Takamoto Katsuta for achieving his first career WRC victory, noting the Toyota driver's patience and resilience in the face of the Safari's unique challenges.

As the championship shifts focus to the Croatia Rally next month, Neuville remains grounded regarding Hyundai’s prospects on asphalt. He emphasized the need for the team to focus on finding a better rhythm and morale during this difficult stretch of the season, rather than expecting immediate transformations in performance.
