Here is the thing about Moto3: the tactics dictate everything, and the opening day of the British GP proved it once more. We are officially staring down the second half of the 2026 season, and it was Valentin Perrone (Red Bull KTM Tech3) who ultimately led the way by the final chequered flag. His stunning 2’09.568 lap was just enough to edge out the competition and take P1.
That top spot came at the expense of a home hero. Scott Ogden had initially jumped into P1 by deploying an alternate strategy that broke him away from the main pack of riders. Securing second place still stands as a brilliant highlight for him and the local crowd. Right behind them, rookie star Veda Pratama (Honda Team Asia) wrestled his machine to third.
Further down the order, a raft of big names had to scrap for position. Brian Uriarte (Red Bull KTM Ajo) slotted into P4, with Irish star Casey O’Gorman (SIC58 Squadra Corse) right behind him in fifth. Sixth and seventh places went to the returning David Almansa (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) and Championship leader Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) respectively.
Looking ahead, Saturday is going to be an absolute belter. All the main title contenders have booked their spots in Q2, while a whole array of big names are forced to fight through Q1. Unfortunately, riders who weren't able to progress straight through include German GP podium finisher Matteo Bertelle (LEVELUP-MTA), Czech GP winner Hakim Danish (AEON Credit – MT Helmets – MSI), and COTA winner Guido Pini (Leopard Racing).
