Valtteri Bottas forced into retirement at Monaco Grand Prix
It is a cruel way to end a weekend, but the Monaco Grand Prix came to a premature halt for Valtteri Bottas. His machine was battling significant brake temperature issues for the duration of the event, and eventually, the heat simply became too much, forcing a retirement.
It is difficult to watch a driver leave the cockpit early, especially when the car is fighting such persistent technical ghosts. Despite the frustration of a DNF, Bottas kept his perspective clear, noting: “It’s another weekend that we can learn a lot from.”
