Verstappen and Hadjar remain uncertain of Red Bull's prospects in Barcelona

It is a strange feeling to see a team as formidable as Red Bull arrive at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit with such hesitation. After Max Verstappen scored a podium in Canada and Isack Hadjar followed suit in Monaco, the team has shown real upward momentum. Yet, both drivers are refusing to get carried away, insisting that the RB22 is still a machine of many mysteries.

Verstappen is heading into the weekend with a fresh engine after his Monaco outing ended in a frustrating non-start from the front row. He remains laser-focused on how the tyres will behave in the predicted high heat, noting that the traditional layout of this track offers a completely different challenge compared to their recent outings. As he put it, "Great memories here in general but at the same time, there are still so many unknowns for us that we first have to see how it goes in practice."

Isack Hadjar, coming off the best weekend of his season, is looking back to Japan for a point of reference. He expects the high-speed demands of the track to mirror Suzuka, where the team struggled to break into the top ten. While he is banking on the car's recent upgrades to make the difference, he remains cautious about how they will actually stack up when the rubber hits the tarmac tomorrow.
