Yohan Rossel maintains lead in WRC2 at Rally Islas Canarias
Yohan Rossel leads the WRC2 field following a challenging Saturday on the mountain roads of Gran Canaria. Despite encountering changing road conditions and rising temperatures, the Frenchman successfully extended his lead during the morning loop before managing his pace through the afternoon, finishing the day with a firm grip on the category.
While Rossel remains in control at the front, the contest for second place has intensified significantly. Alejandro Cachón currently holds the runner-up position, but Léo Rossel has surged forward to sit just 0.2 seconds behind him. Cachón noted that careful tire management in the intense heat remains critical, while Léo Rossel expressed satisfaction with his car's performance heading into the final four stages on Sunday.
Further down the leaderboard, Eric Camilli sits in fourth, trailing the leaders by 43 seconds. Roberto Daprà holds fifth position, followed by a resurgent Nikolay Gryazin, Jan Solans, and Emil Lindholm, who complete the top eight entries.
